Exchange & Warranty Policy

At Hobby Appliances Home, we stand behind the used and refurbished appliances we sell and the refrigerator and freezer repair services we provide to our customers. Please review our exchange and warranty terms before making a purchase.

1. Exchange Policy

We offer exchanges within 7 days of delivery or pickup for customers who change their minds or purchase an appliance that does not fit their space.

To qualify for an exchange:

• The appliance must be returned in undamaged condition.

• Customers must contact us within 7 days of receiving the appliance to request an exchange.

• The replacement appliance must be selected from our available inventory.

• If the original appliance was picked up, the customer must return it to the store and pick up their replacement appliance if they choose to.

• If the original appliance was delivered, we can pick it up and deliver the replacement appliance to the customer, however an additional delivery fee will apply.

Important: Before purchasing, customers should carefully measure the space where the appliance will be placed, rather than relying on the dimensions of their current appliance. Please also consider doorways and other access points.

Refunds are not offered for if you change your mind or purchase appliances that do not fit. Eligible customers may exchange their appliance under the conditions above. This policy does not limit any rights customers may have under applicable consumer protection laws.

2. Warranty Coverage for Appliance Purchases

All used and refurbished appliances purchased from Hobby Appliances Home include a 3-month warranty, beginning on the date of delivery or pickup.

Refrigerators:

Our 3-month refrigerator warranty covers the cooling and freezing system. The refrigerator must be cooling properly, and the freezer must be freezing properly.

If a covered cooling or freezing problem occurs during the warranty period, Hobby Appliances Home will determine whether to repair the refrigerator or provide a suitable replacement, at no cost to the customer.

Ice makers and water dispensers are not covered under this warranty.

Washers, Dryers & Stoves:

Our 3-month warranty covers the appliance's normal operation.

If a covered operational issue occurs during the warranty period, we will provide a suitable replacement appliance at no cost to the customer.

Warranty replacements will have similar features and value to the original appliance.

3. Warranty Exclusions

Our appliance warranties do not cover:

• Physical damage or broken parts caused by damage.

• Cosmetic damage, including scratches, dents and other appearance-related issues.

• Damage resulting from misuse.

• Damage caused by improper installation.

• Refrigerator ice makers and water dispensers.

These exclusions do not prevent coverage for an otherwise eligible cooling, freezing or operational failure under the applicable warranty.

4. How to Make a Warranty Claim

If your appliance develops a problem during the warranty period, please contact Hobby Appliances Home as soon as possible and explain the issue.

We will assess the problem and determine the appropriate warranty solution based on the appliance and the coverage provided.

Customers in Calgary, Airdrie and Chestermere

• Refrigerators: We can arrange an in-home repair or deliver a suitable replacement if necessary.

• Washers, dryers and stoves: We will provide a suitable replacement. Customers may arrange delivery or pick up the replacement from our store.

Approved warranty repairs and replacements are provided at no cost.

Customers Outside Our Service Areas

Customers outside Calgary, Airdrie and Chestermere are responsible for bringing the appliance back to our store for an approved warranty repair or replacement.

5. Out-of-Warranty Assistance

If your appliance develops a problem after the 3-month warranty has expired, you can still contact Hobby Appliances Home for assistance.

• Refrigerators: We offer repair services or a suitable replacement at a discounted cost.

• Washers, dryers and stoves: We offer suitable replacement appliances at a discounted cost.

Delivery charges will apply when transportation is requested. Available repair or replacement options will be discussed with the customer.

6. Warranty on Refrigerator & Freezer Repairs

Refrigerator and freezer repair services performed by Hobby Appliances Home include a 3-month repair warranty, starting from the date the repair is completed.

This warranty covers the specific issue addressed by our repair service. It does not provide coverage for unrelated problems that arise afterward.

We provide in-home refrigerator and freezer repair services in Calgary, Airdrie and Chestermere. Customers outside these cities may contact us about bringing their appliance to our store for repair.
